My alarm is going off and it is a false alarm, what do I do?

Disarm your alarm system immediately and call (559) 495-3070 to notify the operator that the alarm was a false alarm.

How do I disarm my alarm system?

Each type of alarm system is different; typically you need to input your code into the keypad.

Why does my keypad display “not ready”?

Your keypad is informing you that the alarm system is not ready to turn on (arm). Common reasons for this are that a door or window is not completely closed, a motion detector may be sensing movement, or a previous alarm has not been cleared out of the memory. Correct the condition and the alarm system will be ready to arm.

My alarm system is not working, how do I request a service call?

If I have a non-alarm related emergency should I call Valley Security & Alarm first?

No, if you have a non-alarm related emergency call 911.

If I lose electric power, will my alarm system still work?

Yes, in the event of electric power loss the back-up battery will operate your alarm system for several hours. Once your back-up battery is low, a low-battery signal will be sent to Valley Security & Alarm’s monitoring center.

Why is my motion detector providing false detections?

A motion detector may activate falsely due to movement of objects such as balloons, blinds, and curtains within the range of a motion detector. The location of the motion detector above a heater or furnace may also cause false detections. The motion detector may require relocation or adjustment by a Valley Security & Alarm technician.

Will VOIP work with my alarm system?

It depends; each VOIP service provider is different. Please contact your VOIP service provider for details.
